KIDS WITH SERIOUS CRIME

Along with the modernization in all aspect, crime is became an important matter to be solved. More people commit crimes without feeling guilty. In fact, children also involve in criminals as well as murder and rape. And it happens almost in every part of big city such as Jakarta, Bandung and Surabaya. These kids sometime do more determined crimes than adults ever did.

Kids with serious crime problems often make our society unsafe and not comfortable any longer, because police do not have rights to a rest them relating to their insufficient age. As their ages are insufficient to be a prisoner, there should be a way to punish them as a result of their criminal acts. It seems to me that these kids have to be punished with a kind of effective way such as rehabilitation in order to give them some useful and helpful lesson to reduce the criminal acts among children in their age. For example, giving them language lesson so that can be a freelance guide after they finish their punishment, or give them computer skills so they can work or even create their own computer rental. The main point of these kinds of activities is to make these kids more independent in the right way in doing things. Being independent with good skills will encourage these troublemaker kids to respect their own life, indeed their society where they grow up.

It is a pity that some of the victims of the crime do not care about these kids’ future at all. They just want to punish the children with the appropriate punishment relating to the criminal acts they’ve done whether the punishment are insufficient with the age.

Finally, it have to be pointed out that even though children are committing crimes we must regard the bad effects of the punishment which harm their future. It seems like a very hard working to bring this dilemma into reality. Some of us only think about ourselves, but rest of us still carry out much intention to make a better punishment for children with crimes list. At least, there is still a hope for making a better way to reconsider all.
